Tottenham v Fulham – Mark Lawrenson give his prediction on rescheduled match

By Bruce Grove -

Mark Lawrenson believes that Tottenham will beat Fulham in their rescheduled Premier League game this evening.

Spurs are 5th on the league table after returning to winning ways in their game against Leeds United the last time out.

They have beaten Brentford in the Carabao Cup semifinal and Marine in the FA Cup since that match.

This game offers them the chance to move to just a point behind second place Liverpool on the league table.

Jose Mourinho’s men have an eye on the Premier League title, and this campaign has been one of the most unpredictable ones ever.

Lawro said that although Spurs were meant to play Aston Villa initially, that will not stop them from winning because they had already done their homework on Fulham previously.

This game was rescheduled from the end of last month, so both teams should be prepared for the other, but he backs Spurs to earn the points with a 2-0 win.

He writes on BBC: “Aston Villa’s Covid-19 cases meant Tottenham’s fixture was switched on Monday lunchtime so they host Fulham instead of going to Villa Park but I don’t think that will make too much difference to Jose Mourinho’s side.

“They were meant to play the Cottagers at the end of December before that game was postponed, so they will have done their homework already.

“Hardly any of the Spurs team who started their win against Marine in the FA Cup on Sunday will start this one. Fulham played their FA Cup tie against QPR on Saturday, so they should be fresh enough too”
