Tottenham have been tracking Ivan Toney for over a year and they will make their move for him this summer.
Tottenham’s decision to not sign a replacement for Harry Kane last summer hasn’t really hampered their progress under Ange Postecoglou. But, the presence of a world-class striker would surely have helped.
As Spurs prepare for the upcoming summer window, they are looking to bring a star striker to take the next step under the Australian boss. And, according to a report by HITC, the North London club are looking to go all out to land Ivan Toney in their ranks.
Toney was on fire last season before being handed an eight-month-long ban for illegal betting. He made his return in January and has since scored four goals in his 10 league outings. The 28-year-old who recently made his full England debut is going to be subject to a lot of interest in the summer.
With his contract running out in the summer of 2025, an exit in the upcoming window is very likely. As per reports, the Brentford striker is keen on joining a bigger club as he looks to take the next step in his career.
Tottenham need Ivan Toney
Spurs want an out-and-out striker and they are desperate to have the 28-year-old in their ranks. But, they will have to battle it out with Arsenal, Chelsea as well as Manchester United. The Red Devils might have signed Rasmus Hojlund in the recent past but they need a proven goal scorer and Toney is a target.
The Blues have struggled to score goals despite signing Nicolas Jackson, while Mikel Arteta is not happy with the output of Gabriel Jesus.
As a result, both Arsenal and Chelsea are pushing for Toney’s services.
