Tottenham told to pay £20-25m for target who ‘ticks a lot of boxes’ for them

By Saikat -

Tottenham Hotspur are keen on signing James Garner from Everton at the end of the season.

A report from Football Insider claims that Everton value the player at £20-25 million and Spurs will have to pay the asking price if they want to secure his services.

The report further states that the midfielder ‘ticks a lot of boxes’ for Tottenham and they are hoping to get a deal done.

The former Manchester United Academy graduate has established himself as a key player for Everton and he has proven himself with consistent performance in the Premier League. He will be hoping to play at a higher level in the coming seasons and a move through Tottenham will be an exciting opportunity for him.

The Londoners are currently well placed to secure Champions League qualification and joining them would allow Garner to test himself in European competitions.

Meanwhile, Everton are currently fighting the relegation battle and it remains to be seen whether they can preserve their top flight status. Going down to the Championship would mean that they could lose a number of key players in the summer.

The reported asking price seems reasonable for a Premier League midfielder of his quality. Tottenham and certainly have the financial resources to afford him and it remains to be seen whether they come forward with an official approach at the end of the season.

The north London outfit have been linked with the Chelsea midfielder Conor Gallagher as well. It seems that they are determined to bring in a hard-working central midfielder.
