Tottenham need to pay £20-25 million for Premier League ace

Tottenham Hotspur are keen on bolstering their midfield ahead of next season.

The North London club lack depth in the centre of the park and they have their eyes set on Everton’s James Garner who could cost them around £20-25 million according to a report by Football Insider.

Garner was a part of the Manchester United youth ranks. While he did make it to their first team, things didn’t work out for him at the club and he left to join Everton in the summer of 2022.

The Toffees forked out £15 million to sign the 22-year-old defensive midfielder who has gone from strength to strength since making the move to the Merseyside club. While he prefers playing in a defensive role, Garner has featured across the midfield for Everton and has done quite well.

Everton are in the relegation battle and Garner will look to keep them in the English top flight. His impressive performances have attracted a lot of interest from England in particular.

Top clubs want to have him in their ranks and the Liverpool-based club might find it very hard to keep hold of the 22-year-old despite him having over two years left on his deal.

Their survival in the top flight could give them a chance to keep hold of him but relegation will surely see the former Manchester United midfielder move elsewhere. Spurs lack depth in the centre of the park and they are focused on signing someone who can help them in the long run, Garner could be the perfect fit.

Everton are aware of the fact that it won’t be easy to keep him if they go down and are eyeing a profit if they sell.
