Tottenham to ‘redouble their efforts’ to hire their ‘number one target’ after latest development

By Mehdi Gokal -

Tottenham Hotspur’s search for a new manager continues as the club eyes up Julian Nagelsmann, who recently withdrew from the race to become the next Chelsea manager.

This development has raised hopes at Tottenham that they might be able to acquire their number one target.

Following the departure of Antonio Conte in March, Cristian Stellini was named interim manager but was sacked shortly after due to the team’s poor performance under his leadership, culminating in a devastating 6-1 loss to Newcastle.

Ryan Mason was then appointed as interim manager until the end of the season, and in his first game, the team showed great resilience, coming back from a 2-0 deficit to draw 2-2 with Manchester United.

Despite this positive display, the club is still determined to secure a permanent manager to lead them forward, and Nagelsmann is a top candidate.

According to Daily Mail, there was previously a belief among senior figures at Tottenham that the German was more likely to choose Chelsea over them.

However, the report adds that the German’s decision to remove himself from the running for the Chelsea job has provided renewed hope for Tottenham that they can get their ‘number one target’ and will see them ‘redoubling their efforts” to hire him.

Nagelsmann has impressed in his previous roles as the manager of Bayern Munich, RB Leipzig and Hoffenheim, and his dynamic and attacking style of football would be a great fit for Tottenham.

With his experience in the Bundesliga, he would bring a fresh approach to the Premier League, which could help the team to get back on track and compete for the top 4 as well as win some silverware.

It remains to be seen whether Tottenham can successfully secure Nagelsmann’s services, but the club is determined to make a strong push for him in the coming weeks.

The next few weeks will be crucial for the club as they continue their search for a new manager ahead of the next Premier League season.
