Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly closing in on the capture of Micky van de Ven and Alejo Veliz.
The 22-year-old Wolfsburg defender is set to undergo his Tottenham medical today and the transfer is likely to be confirmed in the next few days as per London Evening Standard.
Similarly, Tottenham have agreed on a deal with Rosario Central for Veliz as well and the 19-year-old Argentine forward was recently spotted heading to London for his medical as well.
Van de Ven will add some much-needed defensive stability to the side and he could be a quality acquisition for Tottenham in the long run. The 22-year-old has shown his quality in the Bundesliga and he could form a quality partnership with Cristian Romero at the heart of Tottenham’s defence.
Apart from his defensive ability, the 22-year-old Dutchman will add some much-needed recovery pace to the Spurs backline as well. Ange Postecoglou’s attacking football will certainly benefit from having a pacy defender like him who can mop up counter-attacking situations.
Meanwhile, Veliz could be a quality attacking option for Tottenham next season. He scored 11 goals across all competitions this season and he will look to make his mark in the Premier League. Spurs need to add more goals to their side and the 19-year-old should be a handy option.
The move could look like a masterstroke in the long run if the talented young South American forward can hit the ground running in English football and adapt quickly.
