Tottenham targeting soon-to-be Bayern Munich free agent

By Bruce Grove -

Tottenham has been named as one of the teams that are looking to sign Bayern Munich defender, Jerome Boateng this summer.

The German defender is already inside the final year of his current deal at the European champions.

Although the defender would like to extend his stay in Germany, Sports Bild claims that Bayern Munich will not be offering him a new deal, which opens the door for him to make a move to another team.

The report claims that several European teams are keeping an eye on his contract situation and they will look to make a move for him soon.

It claims that Jose Mourinho has the defender in his plans and the Special One might move for him on a free.

The Lilywhites aren’t the only team that is looking to land him in the next summer transfer window with the report claiming that Arsenal and Chelsea are also in the running for his signature.

Spurs backed Mourinho heavily in this transfer window and the hope is that the former Chelsea manager will win a trophy for the club this season.

If he is able to achieve that, he can expect them to provide him with more signings at the end of this season.

Exactly. No way Levy gives a 2 or 3 year contract to a 32 year old.

Weird. Weird to get rid of 33yo Vertonghen, so we can bring 32yo Boateng. But what do I know?
