Tottenham Hotspur attacker Son Heung-min has now opened up on his future in the Premier League.
A number of top-class players are heading to Saudi Arabia this summer but the South Korean international has revealed that he wants to continue in the Premier League and prove his quality at Tottenham next season.
Son had an underwhelming campaign by his standards last year and the player has revealed that he was struggling physically because of an injury problem.
He is determined to get back to his best once again and Tottenham will certainly benefit from that.
“If I wanted to go there, I would not be here!” Son said, as quoted in The Daily Mail.
“I love playing football. Obviously, money is also important but I dream of playing (in the) Premier League.”
“Last season I really suffered physically. I want to prove this season that I’m the Sonny that we all know.”
“Most people are going (to Saudi Arabia) at the moment which is really, really interesting, but the Premier League is still a dream for me to play for it, so I’m looking forward to this season”.
The 31-year-old attacker is undoubtedly one of the best players in the Premier League and his return to form would be a huge boost for Tottenham as they look to get back into the Champions League once again.
Son has 103 goals in 268 Premier League appearances for Tottenham since joining them.
Harry Kane had to shoulder the goal-scoring burden last season and Son’s return to form will help share that responsibility next season.
The South Korean international has shown that he is a world-class player on his day and Ange Postecoglou will look to get the best out of him. His desire to continue in the Premier League will also come as a major boost to the club and the fan base.
Tottenham striker Harry Kane has been linked with a move away from the club and it will be interesting to see whether the London club can convince the England international to stay put.
Son has enjoyed a lethal partnership with Kane during his time at the club and keeping the two players next season will be crucial to Tottenham’s hopes of challenging for trophies and getting back into the top four.
