Tottenham star has ‘agreed personal terms’ with Euro giants, Londoners ‘open’ to selling

Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg has been linked with a move away from the club this summer.

Spanish giants Atletico Madrid are keen on signing him and they have already ‘agreed personal’ terms with the player.

As per Ben Jacobs, Tottenham are ‘open’ to selling the player this summer for the right price and it remains to be seen whether the two clubs can secure an agreement soon.

Atletico Madrid are ready to pay around €25 million for the midfielder.

The 27-year-old has been a key player for Tottenham since joining them from Southampton, but there is a belief that he might not be a right fit for Ange Postecoglou’s free-flowing attacking system.

Spurs are ready to cash in on him and it remains to be seen whether they can bring him the right replacement. Tottenham are already lacking in the central midfield department and they need to bring in a controller this summer.

Hojbjerg is impressive when it comes to protecting the back four and controlling the tempo of the game. He could prove to be a useful acquisition for Atletico Madrid’s conservative approach.

He was one of the first names on the team sheet under the previous manager Antonio Conte, who had a defensive approach and he is likely to thrive under Diego Simeone as well.

Spurs missed out on Champions League qualification and Atletico Madrid will be able to offer him the platform to showcase his qualities in Europe. The player is clearly open to the transfer and it will be interesting to see how the situation develops.
