Kane has grown into a leader in the Tottenham Hotspur dressing room after progressing through the academy system in north London.
The 29-year-old is now England’s captain, and while he does not wear the armband for Spurs, he is expected to take over for Hugo Lloris when the Frenchman’s contract expires.
Tottenham staff have noticed Kane has become more confident in making his voice heard, according to The Athletic. He has become more vocal in his criticism of the club’s transfer policy, as well as the direction it is taking, as well as other important issues at the club.
Kane wanted to leave Spurs last summer in order to compete for the biggest prizes, but he now appears to be happy at Spurs, which has a lot to do with Antonio Conte’s influence at the club, who has helped them back into the Champions League.
This will come as good news for Spurs fans amidst his uncertain future. His contract with the club expires in 2024 and he has not yet signed a new contract with the club with reports suggesting he is waiting for Conte to pen down a new contract before he extends his. The Italian wants to be convinced by the club’s hierarchy that his ambitions and Spurs’ ambitions are aligned which means full backing in the transfer windows.
Despite a flurry of signings this summer, the club failed to address key issues that Conte wanted addressed before the season began. Spurs are now hoping to address those issues during the January transfer window, with a centre-back and an attacking midfielder being prioritised.
