Tottenham Hotspur are keeping tabs on the Fulham defender Joachim Andersen.

The 28-year-old Denmark international has proven his quality in the Premier League over the years and he could prove to be a quality addition. Tottenham face competition from Liverpool for his services.

According to Caught Offside, Liverpool are looking at him as a potential replacement for Virgil van Dijk.

The Denmark international has made 142 appearances in the Premier League with clubs like Crystal Palace and Fulham. He has tremendous experience of English football and he should be able to settle quickly and make an instant impact.

It will be interesting to see if Tottenham can get the deal done. They need another quality central defender to complete the defensive unit and the 28-year-old seems like the ideal option.

However, Andersen is unlikely to be a cheap addition. The player has signed a long-term contract with the London club and they are under no pressure to sell him. They could easily demand a premium for his services.

The opportunity to join Tottenham could be quite attractive for the defender. He has not played for a big club since his move to England and he could be tempted to join the North London outfit. He will be able to compete in European football with them and fight for trophies. It would be an exciting opportunity for him at this stage of his career. He is at the peak of his powers right now, and this would be the right time for him to join a competitive side.

It remains to be seen whether Spurs follow up on their interest with an official proposal to the player in the coming weeks. Both Liverpool and Tottenham have the resources to get the deal across the line.
