Tottenham are closely monitoring Crystal Palace’s Joachim Andersen amidst interest from rivals Liverpool.
Ange Postecoglou has been pushing hard to bring in another centre-back before the end of the transfer window. While reinforcing the attack seems to be the top priority, the North London club are also looking to add more depth at the back. According to a report from CaughtOffside, Tottenham are interested in the services of Joachim Andersen and they have been closely monitoring his situation at Crystal Palace.
Since arriving at Tottenham, the Australian manager has already added Micky van de Ven and Radu Dragusin to his defence. Van de Ven has already established himself as a mainstay and given the kind of potential Dragusin has, he is expected to play a big part in the 2024/25 season. Despite having five centre-backs in his squad, Postecoglou seeks more depth and Palace’s Joachim Andersen is one of the names on their wishlist.
He has been a consistent feature in the Eagles’ starting XI since joining them from Olympique Lyon back in 2021. Last season, he featured in each of their 38 league games. While he still has two years left on his deal, Liverpool and Tottenham are both keen on prising him away from Palace.
Both clubs have been monitoring the Danish international as they consider him a potential defensive target for this summer. With the Reds in the picture, Spurs are unlikely to find it easy to sign him. More importantly, the Eagles won’t let him leave on the cheap, given his importance in their first team.
