Tottenham set to ‘enter the race’ to sign 10-goal forward on Arsenal radar

By Saikat -

Tottenham Hotspur are expected to pursue Semih Kilicsoy at the end of the season.

A report from Turkish publication Sabah (h/t SportWitness) claims that Spurs will ‘enter the race’ to sign the player in the summer and they will face competition from London rivals Arsenal.

Both clubs are keen on the 18-year-old attacker, and it will be interesting to see where he ends up. Kilicsoy is highly-rated across Europe and he has been quite impressive for Besiktas this season.

The versatile forward has 10 goals to his name across all competitions.

Kilicsoy is quite young and he is likely to improve with coaching and experience. He has the attributes to develop into a quality Premier League attacker and the likes of Tottenham and Arsenal will certainly benefit from his signature.

Spurs need more depth in the attack after the departure of Harry Kane. Kilicsoy could be the ideal long-term replacement for the England international. He is also versatile enough to operate as the wide forward.

Meanwhile, Arsenal need an alternative to Gabriel Jesus who has not scored consistently this season. In addition to that, Mikel Arteta needs a player who can slot into the wide areas so that he can rotate the likes of Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli.

Kilicsoy could be that multipurpose attacking option for them next season.

It will be interesting to see which of the two Premier League clubs come forward with an official proposal to sign the player first. They will be hoping to secure a reasonable agreement with Besiktas in the summer.
