Tottenham set to begin talks to sign £60m-rated attacker in the next two weeks

By Saikat -

Tottenham are keen on acquiring the services of Crystal Palace star Eberechi Eze.

Eze’s impressive performances for the Eagles in the Premier League haven’t gone unnoticed. The English international has put himself on the radar of multiple top clubs and they could knock on Palace’s door in the upcoming summer transfer window.

Tottenham are one of the clubs keen on having the 25-year-old attacking midfielder in their squad and according to a report from Football Transfers, the North London club are all set to begin talks with the Eagles for Eze’s signature in the next two weeks.

Ange Postecoglou had an impressive debut season at the club and now is keen on further bolstering his squad. The Australian manager wants more firepower in attack and Eze’s arrival will surely make them more threatening going forward. He could provide cover to James Maddison and can even feature on the flanks if needed.

His consistent performances and versatility are major reasons why Spurs are after his signature. They have already held preliminary talks with the player’s representatives and his family was also invited to the North London derby.

Having already done some groundwork, Tottenham will knock on Crystal Palace’s door within the next two weeks to begin talks regarding a transfer. While Postecoglou’s team are ready to put themselves in the driving seat by making an early move, they won’t find it easy as Oliver Glasner is keen on retaining Eze’s services and only a significant fee could prise him away from Selhurst Park.

Eze has a gentleman’s agreement with the English club where they will let him leave if Spurs meet the asking price of £60 million. The 25-year-old expects that the Eagles will honour it but it also means anything below that won’t work. However, it will still not be easy for Tottenham as the asking price is a touch on the higher side.
