Tottenham set their sights on £50m Premier League star after securing Radu Dragusin

By Mehdi Gokal -

Tottenham are not messing around in the transfer market, having already secured two key signings and setting their sights on a third.

With the squad in need of reinforcement, chairman Daniel Levy is making decisive moves to meet manager Ange Postecoglou’s requirements.

They have already signed Timo Werner on loan and beaten Bayern Munich to sign highly-rated centre-back from Genoa, Radu Dragusin.

But they are not done yet, with their eyes set on a midfielder next. That is according to the latest report from The Independent, which claims that Spurs are ‘pressing ahead’ with their plans to sign a number 8 next, and Chelsea midfielder Conor Gallagher is on ‘top of the list’.

It claims that Postecoglou is keen on securing a versatile midfielder who can operate as an 8 and serve as a backup for James Maddison if needed.

They have identified the Chelsea man as the ideal player, and Chelsea will be willing to sell him for the right price, which is said to be close to £50m.

Despite Chelsea’s openness to selling Gallagher, manager Mauricio Pochettino is reportedly not in favour.

Pochettino holds the midfielder in high regard, with Gallagher currently captaining the side in the absence of Reece James. It is also reported that Pochettino wants to build his team around the talented player.

TBH Says

Given the big asking price and Pochettino’s reluctance to sell Gallagher, it appears unlikely that Spurs will be able to lure the captain of their rivals. However, they can keep their fingers crossed for a potential move in the summer.
