Tottenham prepared to sell first-team star for £20-25m after signing him for just £15m

Tottenham Hotspur are prepared to sell Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg at the end of this season.

The 28-year-old midfielder has fallen down the pecking order at the London club and he is not a starter for them. They are hoping to sell him in the summer and bring in a quality central midfielder.

A report from Football Insider claims that Tottenham want a fee of around £20-25 million for the Denmark international midfielder. His contract expires in the summer of 2025 and Tottenham must look to get rid of him in the summer. They will not want to lose him on a free transfer next year.

Clubs like Juventus are reportedly keen on the midfielder and it will be interesting to see if they are willing to pay the asking price.

Tottenham looking at Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg replacements

Hojbjerg has not been a good fit for Ange Postecoglou’s style of play and therefore the Australian manager has decided to get rid of him. Tottenham have been linked with other central midfielders in recent weeks and it will be interesting to see if they can bring in the right replacements in the summer. Chelsea midfielder Conor Gallagher is reportedly a target for Spurs.

Meanwhile, Hojbjerg has proven himself in the Premier League over the years and he was a key player for Tottenham under Antonio Conte. He will look to get his career back on track with regular football once again and the permanent from Tottenham will be ideal for him. He is certainly good enough to join a top club and it remains to be seen where he ends up.

The Denmark international is very much at the peak of his powers and he could prove to be a bargain for the report in £20-25 million valuation. Spurs paid £15 million for him in 2020 and it remains to be seen whether they can make a profit on him.
