Tottenham Hotspur have been urged to hold on to Son Heung-min, despite the rumours surrounding his future.

The South Korean international has been exceptional for Tottenham since joining the club, and former goalkeeper Paul Robinson has urged Tottenham to keep him at the club for the long run.

Tottenham urged to hold on to their key star

“He’s a top-quality player”, Robinson told Football Insider.

“[Son] has not had his best season, but is still valuable… Tottenham are competing on multiple fronts.

“His experience is vital. He’s the club’s talisman… will become a legend… it would be an absolute no-brainer to keep him.”

Even though he has not been at his best this past season, he remains a key player for the club, and his experience will be vital for them in the future. He is undoubtedly one of their best players, and Tottenham will need him on the side if they want to fight for trophies next season.

His experience and leadership qualities could prove to be invaluable for Tottenham as they look to build a squad for the future. They are already lacking in depth in the attacking unit, and losing the South Korean would be a devastating blow. They must resist any approaches for their star forward and look to build the squad around him.

Son has been a world-class performer for Tottenham, and there is no doubt that he could bounce back strongly next season. He will know that he has not been at his best in recent months, but there is no doubt that he has the quality to do a lot better.

The 32-year-old attacker picked up 11 goals last season, and he chipped in with 12 assists as well. Even though he is in the twilight stages of his career, he could be an important contributor for Tottenham in future. It will be interesting to see if he can get back to his best next season.
