Tottenham sees approach for Juventus target rejected

By Bruce Grove -

Goal.com claims that Tottenham has made an approach for Juventus’ defender, Merih Demiral, but the Bianconeri is not prepared to allow the 22-year-old to leave them.

He joined the Italian champions from Sassuolo last summer and he made a fine start to his time at the Allianz Stadium.

His start was ended by a premature injury that kept him out of the first-team picture for a very long time.

He returned at the start of this season and was substituted in for the final minutes of Juve’s first league game against Sampdoria.

He hasn’t won back a place in the starting XI, however, he is just 22 and the club thinks that he has a lot to still offer.

The report claims that they are reluctant to let him leave because they see him as a key part of Andrea Pirlo’s plans now and in the future.

Demiral is the second Serie A defender that Spurs will target as they look to add another defender to their team.

They are also targeting Inter Milan’s Milan Skriniar and they have held talks with the Italians for his signature.

Spurs are expected to still try to sign the Slovakian before this transfer window closes.

Still eying D gray. José knows a baller. He’d be a fine bring in. Ball caresser. I’d have him in my squad all day long. Get him in Jose. Tired Defenders don’t want him brought on for the last 15/20 mins
