Tottenham Hotspur are scouting the Wolverhampton Wanderers defender Rayan Ait-Nouri.
The 23-year-old Algerian has been a key player for Wolves since joining the club, and he has established himself as one of the best left-backs in the league. Tottenham could certainly use more depth in that position, especially with Ben Davies out of contract in the summer.
It will be interesting to see if they initiate a move to sign the player after scouting him consistently over the last 12 months. According to TBR Football, Liverpool and Chelsea have been monitoring the player’s development as well.
Wolves do not want to sell the player midway through the season, and it will be interesting to see if Tottenham decide to wait until the summer transfer window in order to sign him.
The 23-year-old is capable of slotting into the role of a left-back, wing-back as well as a winger. His versatility will be a bonus for Tottenham if they can get the deal done. At 23, he is likely to improve with coaching and experience. He could develop into a key player for the club in the long term.
Similarly, Liverpool need a quality replacement for Andrew Robertson, who is in the twilight stages of his career. The Scottish international has been quite underwhelming in recent months and Ait-Nouri would be a quality replacement.
As far as Chelsea are concerned, Ben Chilwell is expected to be sold at the end of the season. The England international has been quite underwhelming for Chelsea and he has failed to earn the trust of Enzo Maresca. Chelsea will need to fill the void left by him and, the 23-year-old seems like the ideal acquisition for them.
The opportunity to play for clubs like Tottenham, Liverpool or Chelsea would be quite attractive for Ait-Nouri and he will look to join a club capable of winning major trophies.
