Tottenham Hotspur are keen on signing the Sporting CP midfielder Morten Hjulmand.
The 24-year-old defensive midfielder has established himself as a key player for the Portuguese club since joining them and he has two goals and four assists across all competitions.
A report from Record via SportWitness claims that Tottenham have sent scouts to watch the player in action a few times this season and they have come back with glowing reports of the midfielder. It will be interesting to see if they follow up on their interest with an official proposal in the summer.
Tottenham will have to bring in a quality midfielder in the summer and the Denmark international should prove to be a quality acquisition. He could be the ideal replacement for his compatriot Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, who could leave the club in the summer.
The opportunity to move to the Premier League will be a tempting one for the Sporting CP star and he is likely to be attracted to the idea of playing for a big club like Tottenham. The North London outfit are pushing for Champions League qualification and they will be an attractive destination for players if they manage to finish in the top four.
It remains to be seen whether Tottenham can agree on a reasonable fee with the Portuguese outfit. The midfielder has a contract with Sporting CP until the summer of 2028 and he has a €80 million release clause in his contract.
