Tottenham Hotspur are looking to improve their defensive unit with the signing of Milan Skriniar at the end of the season.

The 30-year-old central defender has been identified as a potential replacement for Cristian Romero if he leaves the club at the end of the season. He has been linked with clubs like Atletico Madrid, and Skriniar is one of the players on Tottenham’s shortlist to replace the South American. They wanted to sign the defender in January as well.

The Slovakian defender is currently on loan at Fenerbahce after falling down the packing order at PSG. He could be available for a reasonable price in the summer, and a report from Fichajes claims that Tottenham are keeping tabs on him along with Jarrad Branthwaite and Marc Guehi.

The 30-year-old defender has shown great improvement since the move to Turkey, and he has established himself as a key player for Fenerbahce. The opportunity to move to the Premier League will be quite exciting for him, and PSG are likely to cash in on the player for the right price.

It will be interesting to see if Tottenham decide to make a move for him.

Romero has been an exceptional performer for the North London club, and losing him would be a devastating blow for Spurs. Replacing him with someone who has not been at his best in recent months could be a bit underwhelming, but Skriniar has previously proven himself to be a world-class defender.

He has managed to recapture his form and confidence since the move to Turkey as well. He could prove to be a quality addition for a knockdown price. The player has been previously described as “absolutely top-class” by Inter Milan CEO Beppe Marotta (h/t F365). It will be interesting to see how the situation unfolds.
