Tottenham have decided to reduce their asking price for Emerson Royal to make sure he is sold this summer.
Calciomercato.com reports that initially, Spurs valued Emerson at €20 million but have now reportedly reduced this to €18 million, including bonuses, to ensure a smooth transfer.
Emerson, eager to join the Italian giants, has already reportedly agreed to personal terms, with a five-year contract worth €3 million annually.
Tottenham signed Emerson from Barcelona in the summer of 2021 for €25 million. However, he has struggled to secure a regular starting position under new manager Ange Postecoglou.
Last season, he made 22 Premier League appearances but started only 11 games, highlighting his difficulty in becoming a key player for Spurs.
With Emerson not featuring in the club’s future plans, Tottenham are keen to offload him.
By reducing the asking fee, Spurs aims to expedite Emerson’s transfer, allowing them to focus on strengthening other areas of the team. The move is part of a strategy to reshape the squad and ensure it is competitive for the upcoming season.
