Tottenham receive much needed boost with one player now ‘expected to return’ by Christmas

By Mehdi Gokal -

Tottenham have been handed a much needed boost with one player now expected to return to the team by Christmas.

That is according to Tottenham correspondent for The Athletic, Charlie Eccleshare, who gave an update on the injury to Rodrigo Bentancur, confirming that he will be out for two and a half months.

He also shared updates on the rest of Tottenham’s injured players including Richarlison. As per him, he is ‘expected to return’ to action by Christmas.

The 26-year-old was suffering from a health issue from some time and had to undergo an injury on his pelvic. This was right after the Chelsea game that saw the likes of Micky van de Ven and Cristian Romero also suffer long-term injuries.

The surgery went successful and was expected to be back in a few weeks. Ange has now gotten himself a timeline in what is a ray of good news in what has otherwise been nothing but misery.

Even though he has been struggling since joining Tottenham, his availability is going to be crucial for Spurs when Spurs lose Son for a month in January due to the Asian Cup.

Ange is already working with a very thin squad and losing Son is going to be a big blow him. He is already without Manor Solomon and Perisic and will need as many players available as he can in order to get through that period.

Spurs are also expected to sign another attacker in January and former Celtic winger Jota is the name being strongly linked. But their main focus will be to address other areas, in particular the centre-back position.
