Tottenham Hotspur have received a massive boost as Antonio Conte is set to return to take charge of the team against AC Milan.
After undergoing an emergency gallbladder surgery, Conte had to miss the last few games for Spurs as he recovered.
The team, however, did exceptionally well in his absence, with the assistant manager guiding them to four victories including wins over Manchester City and Chelsea.
Unfortunately, Spurs lost their last two games, including a defeat against Sheffield United in the FA Cup and a 1-0 loss to Wolves in the Premier League.
With their hopes of winning a silverware this season relying on the Champions League, Spurs will host AC Milan this week trailing by a goal to nil.
Cristian Stellini, the assistant coach, believes that Antonio Conte returning against Milan is a ‘massive boost’ for Spurs.
In an interview with Football London, he said:
“Antonio will be a massive boost for us from tomorrow until the end of the season. It is important that Antonio is back.
We want to have him back with a different result, but the team showed to Antonio that it is alive. They want to win, they want to control the game, they want to dominate the game, and this is important, I think.”
Conte is known for his tactical acumen and his ability to inspire his team to perform at the highest level. His return to Spurs will undoubtedly give the team a much-needed boost.
