Tottenham ‘really like’ 26-yr-old who is represented by the same agency as Postecoglou

Tottenham Hotspur continue to be linked with a move for the England international midfielder James Maddison.

The 26-year-old has been relegated from the Premier League with Leicester City and he is expected to leave the Foxes and join a top-flight club this summer.

Fabrizio Romano has revealed to CaughtOffside that Tottenham ‘really like’ the midfielder and they could look to sign him during the summer transfer window.

“It’s also worth being clear that Tottenham’s focus is on a creative midfielder and new centre-back now, and of course a new goalkeeper. For the creative midfield role, they really like James Maddison, while for the keeper they have agreed personal terms with David Raya but still need to agree a fee with Brentford.”

Maddison has proven himself to be a quality playmaker in the top flight over the years, and he picked up 10 goals and nine assists across all competitions in the league this past season.

There is no doubt that he would improve Tottenham in the attack and his arrival would help create more goalscoring opportunities for players like Harry Kane and Son Heung-min.

The midfielder is at the peak of his career and he will want to join the club capable of challenging for trophies. The opportunity to play for Tottenham will be an exciting step in his career.

The midfielder has been linked with other English clubs as well and it will be interesting to see if Tottenham can secure his services in the coming weeks.

According to Football London, the midfielder is represented by the same agency that represents the newly appointed Tottenham manager Ange Postecoglou.

It is fair to assume that Spurs’ existing relationship with CAA Base should help them secure a move for Maddison.

Leicester City might not want to sell their key player this summer, but they are powerless to stop him from leaving after relegation. The 26-year-old is too good for the Championship and he is likely to force a move.
