Tottenham ‘really admire’ French international as they look to sort out problem position

By Saikat -

Tottenham Hotspur are keen on improving their defensive unit and they have identified Jean-Clair Todibo as a target.

A report from Sky Sports claims that they have put together a shortlist of defenders they want to sign in the coming months and the French international defender is on their radar. Apparently, they want to sign players aged 24 and under. The Ligue 1 central defender certainly fits the profile and Spurs ‘really admire’ him.

He has been a key player for OGC Nice over the past year and the opportunity to move to Tottenham could be an attractive one for him. It would be an excellent step up in his career and he would get to showcase his qualities at a high level.

Tottenham have invested in players like Ashley Phillips and Micky van de Ven recently. Van de Ven in particular has proven to be an exceptional signing but Spurs need more depth at the back.

Signing another central defender should be a top priority for them and Todibo would be a quality acquisition. The 23-year-old is still relatively young and he is likely to improve further with coaching and experience.

He has been linked with other Premier League clubs as well. It will be interesting to see if Tottenham decide to make a move for him when the transfer window reopens in January. The French outfit might not want to lose a key player like him midway through through the season and it remains to be seen how the situation develops.
