The England international has come up the ranks at Chelsea. He has been a part of their first team since the summer of 2022. He has been one of the standout performers for Mauricio Pochettino’s team in the 2023/24 season. The 24-year-old midfielder has featured in 50 matches throughout the campaign, he has racked up over 4,000 minutes and has contributed towards 16 goals (7 goals, 9 assists).
Despite his sensational performances in the centre of the park, his future at the club is not certain. With just over a year left on his contract and no real development regarding a renewal, Chelsea could look to sanction his departure in the summer.
They are not in the best financial situation and the departure of a homegrown star will help them balance their books as it will be regarded as 100 per cent profit.
