Tottenham player defying exit despite club’s urgent need to sell and interest from Premier League side

By Mehdi Gokal -

Daily Mail’s Tom Collomosse has claimed that Nottingham Forest are expected to sell striker Brennan Johnson to Tottenham before the deadline.

Tottenham have already had a £40m offer turned down but are expected to come back with an improved offer before the window shuts.

Nottingham Forest initial valuation for the player was £50m but as per the journalist, they would sell him for £45m.

He reported (7:14):

“Forest are expected to sell Brennan Johnson to Tottenham for around £45million.”

“Forest were looking to sign Davinson Sanchez, but, as of yesterday he didn’t want to leave .”

The report also claims that Nottingham Forest are interested in signing Tottenham defender Davinson Sanchez, a player Spurs are actively looking to get rid of. But the Colombian does not want to leave.

This is not the first time he has shown reluctance to move. Earlier in the window they had a £12.9m deal agreed with Spartak Moscow but the player rejected it.

French side Rennes have also made an attempt to sign him with an offer of £7.7m but that was rejected by Spurs as they are expecting to coup at least £12m for him.

Sami Mokbel reports that Tottenham need to send a few players out before they bring in Johnson though and they have communicated this to Forest which is why the Johnson saga could go on to the wire.

Romano has confirmed Spurs have agreed a loan deal for Japhet Tanganga with German club Augsburg while Sergio Reguilon is joining Manchester United on loan.

A move for Johnson can be expected later in the day but it will leave little time for negotiations.

Their next offer will need to match Nottingham Forest’s valuation if they want to get the deal over the line in time.
