Tottenham learn asking price for versatile 24-year-old with 10 goal contributions this season

Tottenham Hotspur are keen on signing Morgan Gibbs-White from Nottingham Forest at the end of the season.

A report from Football Insider claims that the midfielder is on the radar of Newcastle United as well and it will be interesting to see if the clubs decide to come forward with an official offer to sign him in the summer.

The 24-year-old has been a key player for Nottingham Forest and he has impressed with his performances in the English top flight. The midfielder has four goals and six assists in all competitions and his numbers are likely to improve when he’s playing in a better team alongside better players.

Morgan Gibbs-White is certainly good enough to play for clubs like Tottenham and Newcastle. The North London outfit are pushing for Champions League qualification and they need more depth in the squad. The 24-year-old midfielder will add creativity, flair, drive, and goals to the side. However, the asking price could be a bit of a problem. Journalist Pete O’Rourke has revealed on Football Insider that the midfielder could cost in excess of £50 million. It will be interesting to see if Tottenham are prepared to pay that kind of money for him.

“It won’t just be Tottenham who will be interested in Morgan Gibbs-White if he is on the market this summer – Newcastle will also be interested.

“It will be a similar sort of price tag to the £50million paid for Brennan Johnson and possibly slightly more as well.“

Nottingham Forest will certainly hope that a number of clubs get involved and there is a bidding war for their prized asset. They will want to recoup as much as possible for the player.

The opportunity to move to Tottenham will be an exciting one for Gibbs-White, and he will look to test himself at a high level. He will want to compete in the Champions League with them next season and it remains to be seen how the situation develops.
