Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with the move for the AS Roma striker Tammy Abraham.
The 26-year-old could be on his way out of the Italian club this summer, and a report from Il Messaggero claims that Tottenham Hotspur are ‘on the trail’ of the English striker. They will face competition from West Ham United.
The report states that the Italian club would be willing to sell the player for a fee of around €30 million this summer.
Abraham had an injury-plagued season with the Italian club and they are ready to cut their losses on him. Although he impressed during his debut season with 27 goals, Roma are ready to part ways.
It seems that Tottenham and West Ham would be willing to provide him with an exit route this summer. The North London club club need someone who can lead the line for them and Abraham’s arrival will allow players like Son Heung-min and Richarlison to operate in their natural roles.
The 26 year-old will want to prove his quality in the Premier League and the opportunity to join a top club like Tottenham will be quite exciting. He has the quality to succeed in English football and he could be a useful acquisition for Tottenham.
The reported €30 million valuation seems reasonable as well. It will be interesting to see if Tottenham ready to break the bank for him. Meanwhile, West Ham need a quality striker as well and they have the resources to pay the asking price for Abraham. It will be interesting to see where the former Chelsea academy graduate ends up.
