Tottenham currently monitoring the situation of Premier League striker with 29 goals; club could be forced to sell

By Mehdi Gokal -

Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly entered the race to secure the signature of Newcastle United striker Alexander Isak.

Spurs are expected to continue their spending spree in the upcoming summer transfer window, with several positions identified to bolster, including a new striker to replace Harry Kane.

And recent reports have suggested that Spurs are gearing up to make a move for the £100m-rated forward, joining their London rivals Arsenal in the pursuit.

Tottenham join race to sign Isak

According to the latest update from Football Insider, Newcastle are adamant about retaining Isak’s services at St James’ Park, but financial pressures could force them to consider offers for the Swedish international.

Both Tottenham and Arsenal are closely monitoring the situation, with the Magpies’ stance on the player’s future under scrutiny.

It is said that while Ange Postecoglou’s side holds admiration for Isak’s talents, Newcastle’s hefty valuation might deter Spurs.

Spurs to allocate significant chunk for marquee striker

Nevertheless, a previous report from Football Insider claimed that Tottenham are allocating a substantial portion of their transfer budget to secure a marquee striker.

With Harry Kane’s future uncertain, Spurs are actively laying the groundwork to sign a high-profile forward, with Isak emerging among the potential targets.

Isak would indeed fall into the big-name category, with the Swede making quite an impact since signing for Newcastle in 2022, for a fee of £60m. Since joining, he has scored 29 goals in 59 games and assisted another 4.
