Tottenham might ‘already have an agreement’ to sign 23-year-old in January

Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with a move for the OGC Nice defender Jean-Clair Todibo.

The 23-year-old has been linked with the move to the Premier League with clubs like Tottenham and Manchester United keen on securing his services next month.

Journalist Ignazio Genuardi has now revealed that Spurs might ‘already have an agreement’ with the French club to sign the defender.

Tottenham are in desperate need of defensive reinforcements and the 23-year-old should prove to be a quality acquisition.

He has established himself as one of the most reliable performers in the French league, and he has the technical and physical attributes to thrive in English football as well. The 23-year-old is still relatively young and he will improve with coaching and experience. Todibo has all the tools to develop into a top-class Premier League defender.

If Tottenham can sign him for a reasonable price next month, it could prove to be a superb bit of transfer business.

Players like Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven are currently sidelined with injuries. Tottenham must do everything in their power to bring in quality defensive reinforcements if they want to secure Champions League qualification.

They started the season really well but their form has dipped in recent weeks because of a number of injury problems. It will be interesting to see if they can bring in the right additions next month and get their top four push back on track.
