Tottenham midfielder appears to aim dig at Antonio Conte in latest Instagram post

By Mehdi Gokal -

The previous season was a forgettable one for many Tottenham players and fans alike.

Despite a promising start, the team struggled after the World Cup period and encountered various challenges both on and off the pitch.

And the situation reached its peak when former manager Antonio Conte had a public outburst aimed at his own players where he questioned their commitment to the club and questioned the owner’s ambitions. He was sacked by the club soon after.

Conte’s tactical approach, which was more passive in nature, proved difficult for several players to adapt to, including Yves Bissouma, who had arrived at Tottenham from Brighton following an impressive season.

Bissouma struggled to shine under Conte, with the Italian manager himself admitting that the player was finding it challenging to adapt to his style of play.

With Conte gone and now Ange Postecoglou in charge, Bissouma is expected to be at his best again.

Postecoglou’s philosophy is a complete contrast to Conte’s, as he emphasises attacking play and fast, free-flowing football.

The Australian has already been left impressed by the player so far as reported by Alasdair Gold, who claims that Postecoglou ‘loves him’.

The player now seems to be loving life at Tottenham Hotspur as well. And he appeared to aim a subtle dig at former coach Antonio Conte with his latest Instagram post where he posted a picture of himself in training with all smiles with the caption:  “Nothing better than being happy while working…”

Even though Ange Postecoglou may not be a big name appointment from Tottenham, he certainly has lifted the mood around the camp and players seem to be excited to play under him.

The positive atmosphere created by the new manager is a promising sign for Tottenham as they aim to bounce back from their disappointing previous campaign.
