Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with the move for the Barcelona goalkeeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen in recent weeks.
They have now been handed a boost in their pursuit of the German International. The player will be made available during the January transfer window, and intermediaries have been given the green light to look for potential destinations.
Spurs made aware of Marc-Andre ter Stegen availability
As per Graeme Bailey on TBR Football: “Intermediaries have been given the green light to look at prospective moves around Europe, and the Premier League is a destination he would seriously consider.
“Chelsea are a fascinating one. We know they are looking to land Mike Maignan on a Bosman, but could they bring in Ter Stegen for six months? Why not?
“United, Spurs, Newcastle, and West Ham have been made aware too.
“Ter Stegen is world-class, and if there is a chance to bolster your ranks with a player of this calibre for the second half of the season, I think he is a fascinating option for a number of sides in January.”
Ter Stegen needs to move on

Ter Stegen is no longer the first-choice goalkeeper at the club, and Barcelona are looking to move him on. The move to Tottenham could be ideal for him. Guglielmo Vicario can be quite inconsistent, and the competition for places will help both players improve.
Tottenham should invest in another goalkeeper, and signing the German on loan during the January window could be ideal. If he manages to impress, they will be able to sign him permanently at the end of the season.
He has proven himself with club and country, and there is no doubt that he is an exceptional player. He has the qualities to thrive in the Premier League, and he could make a big difference for Tottenham. Apart from his quality as a goalkeeper, his winning experience could prove to be invaluable.
