Tottenham Hotspur are keen on signing Desire Doue from Stade Rennais this summer.
According to TBR Football, Tottenham have already made contact with the French club regarding a move for the 19-year-old winger. It will be interesting to see if they follow up with an official proposal in the coming weeks.
Desire Doue is highly rated in France and he has had an impressive campaign with Rennais. The winger has scored four goals and picked up six assists in all competitions. Spurs need more cutting edge the final third and the French U21 international would be the ideal addition.
The 19-year-old is young enough to improve further and Spurs could help him fulfil his tremendous potential. The North London club will hope to sign him for a reasonable price this summer. The transfer could look like a major bargain in the long term if Doue manages to fulfil his potential.
Meanwhile, the Premier League club are keen on signing his brother Guela Doue as well. The 21-year-old operates as a right-back for Rennais and he could prove to be a quality addition as well. Emerson Royal has been linked with a move away from Spurs and the Ivory Coast international could be his replacement.
Spurs need to add more quality and depth to their squad if they want to do well across multiple competitions next season. They will be competing in the UEFA Europa League and they will have to deal with increased number of fixtures.
The Doue brothers could prove to be useful options for them during rotation and injuries. Furthermore, they are young players with tremendous potential and they could develop into important first-team players for the club with the right guidance.
