Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly keen on the Manchester City attacking midfielder Jack Grealish.
According to football transfers, Tottenham sporting director Johan Lange has been in touch with the player’s representatives to discuss a potential move to the North London club.
Lange played a key role in the player’s move to Manchester City during his time as the sporting director of Aston Villa and it remains to be seen whether he can convince the player to move to Tottenham now.
The London club could certainly use more quality in the final third and Grealish is versatile enough to operate in the central attacking midfield role as well as a winger. He has fallen down the pecking order at Manchester City and he is no longer a key starter for them.
His career has stagnated and he needs to leave the defending champions to play more often. Moving to Tottenham could be an exciting opportunity for him. He was regarded as one of the best players in the league when he moved to Manchester City and regular football at Spurs could help him get back to that level.
It remains to be seen whether Manchester City are prepared to sanction his departure. They paid a substantial amount of money for the player and they could easily easily demand that premium for the 29-year-old.
The versatile midfielder has played just 539 minutes in all competitions this season and he needs to play more often at this stage of his career. It will be interesting to see if Tottenham are willing to break the bank for him. He could provide competition to the likes of James Maddison and Son Heung-min if he joins the club. He will help add goals and creativity to the side as well.
The midfielder has extensive experience of Premier League football and he should be able to hit the ground running if he joins Tottenham. He has won the Premier League title and the UEFA Champions League during his time at Manchester City and his winning experience could prove to be vital as well.
