Tottenham looking to sort out the future of £100k-a-week star this week

By Saikat -

Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper Hugo Lloris has been linked with a move to Saudi Arabia.

A report from Daily Mail claims that Saudi Arabian clubs are keeping tabs on the 36-year-old French goalkeeper, and they could look to make a move for him before the summer transfer window closes.

Although Premier League clubs can no longer sign players, the transfer window is still open in Saudi Arabia and they will be able to sign players from English clubs.

Lloris is currently unwanted at the London club and he has fallen down the pecking order this season.

Tottenham have already brought in Guglielmo Vicario as the club’s first-choice goalkeeper and they will look to sell the Frenchman before the window closes.

Lloris was linked with a return to France earlier this month but the move did not materialise.

The 36-year-old is unlikely to play regularly for Tottenham and it makes sense for him to move on in search of regular playing time.

The £100,000-a-week goalkeeper has proven himself as a loyal servant for Tottenham, but he’s a shadow of his former self now and it makes sense for him to try out a different adventure now.

A move to Saudi Arabia will help him earn big money and he will be able to express himself better in a different league as well.

His performances proved costly for Tottenham last season and they simply cannot afford to have him as the first-choice keeper if they are serious about winning major trophies.
