Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly keen on signing David Raya from Brentford at the end of the season.
The 27-year-old Spaniard has been quite impressive for the Premier League outfit and his performances have caught the attention of the London club.
Tottenham need to bring in a quality alternative to Hugo Lloris and Raya could prove to be a quality acquisition.
The Spaniard is at the peak of his powers and he could make an immediate impact at the North London club. A report from Football Insider claims that they are prepared to lure the goalkeeper with a lucrative contract offer. Apparently, they’re ready to triple his current wages and Raya would earn around £100,000-a-week at Tottenham.
Lloris has been quite error-prone this season and he will need to be replaced as the club’s first-choice goalkeeper.
The 36-year-old Frenchman has a contract with Spurs until the summer of 2024 and he could still be an important member of the first-team squad but he is no longer good enough to start every week.
Spurs will be hoping to challenge for trophies and get back into the Champions League. They must look to address the weaknesses in the squad during the summer transfer window.
It will be interesting to see if the London club can agree on a fee with Brentford now. The Spaniard has been linked with other English clubs as well, and it will be interesting to see where he ends up eventually.
