Tottenham Hotspur continue to be linked with a move for the Lecce youngster Patrick Dorgu.
The 20-year-old Danish international has already established himself as a key player for the Italian club and his performances have caught the attention of Tottenham and Chelsea.
Sky Sports journalist Francesco Modungo has now revealed to CalcioNapoli24 that the versatile wide player will cost around €40-50 million.
Modungo said: “I know one thing: in Lecce they are certain to make the highest capital gain ever in the Corvino era. He could have gone to Tottenham and Chelsea last year, the boy, and Lecce could sell him for 40-50 million euros. Patrick is predestined. In a recent interview I did with the former Salento coach Gotti, the coach confided in me that ”God wanted him to play football”. He has infinite technical and physical means. In short, whoever wants him must shell out at least a lot of money.”
The Italian Italian outfit rate him highly and they are unwilling to let him leave for a knockdown price. Any club hoping to sign the player will have to pay the asking price for him. It will be interesting to see if Tottenham are willing to break the bank for the versatile wide player.
Tottenham could certainly use more quality and depth in the white areas. The 20-year-old is capable of operating as a left-back, a left-sided wing-back as well a right winger. He will add goals and creativity to the attack.
The asking price might seem like a premium right now, but the player has the potential to justify the investment in the near future. He is likely to improve with coaching and experience. He could develop into a key player in the Premier League.
Ben Davies is set to leave the club upon the expiry of his contract, and Dorgu could be a quality replacement. He could compete with Destiny Udogie for the starting left-back spot or slot in as a winger, depending on the opposition.
