Tottenham leading the race to sign £60m ace, Paratici a huge fan

By Saikat -

Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly keen on signing the Crystal Palace defender Marc Guehi at the end of the season.

A report from Football Insider claims that club director Fabio Paratici is a huge fan of the 22-year-old defender and Tottenham could look to make a move for him during the summer transfer window.

Guehi has been a key player for Crystal Palace since joining the club and he has the potential to develop into one of the best defenders in the league. Tottenham need to find a quality partner for Cristian Romero and Guehi would certainly be an upgrade on some of their current options.

The 22-year-old is still quite young and he is only going to get better with coaching experience. He could prove to be a superb long-term investment for Tottenham if they manage to secure his services.

The player could cost around £60 million and it will be interesting to see if Tottenham can spend that kind of money on him. The Londoners will have to tighten up at the back assigning like Guehi could transform them defensively.

The 22-year-old has outgrown Crystal Palace this season and he deserves to play for a top club. If Tottenham managed to secure Champions League qualification, they will be an attractive destination for the player.

The 22-year-old will want to cement himself as a regular starter for his country as well and playing for a big club like Tottenham in the Champions League will certainly boost his chances of playing for England regularly.

The move seems ideal for all parties and it remains to be seen how the situation develops.
