Tottenham leading race to sign 23-year-old Premier League attacker this summer

Tottenham are front-runners for the services of former Chelsea attacker Callum Hudson-Odoi.

There is no shortage of interest in the services of Nottingham Forest star Callum Hudson-Odoi following a sensational end to the 2023/24 season. The Chelsea academy product bagged three goals in his final three games of the season and as many as three clubs are ready to knock on the Tricky Trees door for his signature.

According to a report from The Sun, Ange Postecoglou’s Tottenham are the ones leading the race for the 23-year-old attacker. While Hudson-Odoi did suffer from injuries in the initial phase of the season, he managed to bounce and has ended it on a high. He finished with eight goals and two assists in just over 2,100 minutes of first-team action.

Things might not have worked out for him at Stamford Bridge but the move to Nottingham has helped him revive himself and he finds himself on the wishlist of three Premier League clubs with Spurs leading the chase.

The North London club are looking to reinforce their attack ahead of next season. While the priority is to sign a top-quality number nine, they also want to strengthen the flanks and Postecoglou feels the former Chelsea player could be an ideal fit for his team.

While Forest want to keep hold of their star, they need to sanction a major sale to avoid another breach of the Premier League’s Profit and Sustainability rules. Hudson-Odoi’s value has gone up at some pace.

He is currently valued at £30 million which is around ten times the fee the Tricky Trees paid for him. His departure will surely help them balance their books. While Spurs are currently leading the race for the signature of the versatile attacker, they do have a battle on their hands with two rival clubs also keen.
