Tottenham launch combined offer in excess of £50m for English duo

By Saikat -

Tottenham Hotspur are hoping to sign James Maddison and Harvey Barnes from Leicester City during the summer transfer window.

According to a report from Daily Mail, the north London giants have now launched a combined offer for the two midfielders worth in excess of £50 million.

The report claims that Leicester City are likely to turn down the offer from Tottenham and it remains to be seen whether Spurs decide to come forward with an improved offer in the coming weeks.

Both Maddison and Barnes have been exceptional servants for Leicester and they will be hoping to move on and join a Premier League club this summer.

The Foxes have been relegated to the Championship, and the two players are too good to play in the second division.

Tottenham need to add more creativity and goals to their side and the two Leicester City midfielders could prove to be exceptional acquisitions.

Both players are at the peak of their powers and they could make an immediate impact at Spurs. They are well-settled in the Premier League and they will help transform Tottenham in the final third.

Maddison and Barnes are versatile enough to operate in a number of midfield roles and they will add greater tactical flexibility to Spurs attack.

Both players are capable of creating goalscoring opportunities and scoring goals themselves. Furthermore, Maddison will add a new dimension to the Tottenham attack with his set-piece ability as well.

Spurs will be hoping to get back into the Champions League as soon as possible and signings like Barnes and Maddison will certainly help them.
