Tottenham are reportedly keeping tabs on Club Brugge left-back Maxim de Cuyper as they look to bolster their squad in the upcoming transfer window.

The 23-year-old Belgian defender has drawn interest from several Premier League sides, with Arsenal prominent among clubs like Nottingham Forest and Manchester City, as reported by TBR Football.

His versatility in operating on either flank of the defence makes him an attractive option for the Spurs, who are keen to strengthen their backline.

De Cuyper’s form has been nothing short of impressive. Last season, he showcased his attacking prowess with five goals and 15 assists in 55 appearances across all competitions. His performance this season has been equally commendable, contributing one goal and four assists, taking his overall career tally to 27 goals and 42 assists across all competitions and all levels. Currently tied to Club Brugge until 2028 following his contract renewal earlier this year, De Cuyper’s rising stock has sparked significant interest across Europe.

His agent, Axel Vergeylen, has previously hinted that a transfer could be imminent, mentioning that while Serie A clubs are closely monitoring his progress, the Premier League remains a strong possibility.

Internationally, De Cuyper made his senior debut for Belgium in June 2024 during a friendly win against Montenegro and netted his first goal for the national team in a 2-2 draw with Italy in October. This has further solidified his reputation as a player ready for the next step in his career.

De Cuyper could be the answer to Tottenham’s ongoing injury crisis in defence. With Cristian Romero, Micky van de Ven, and Ben Davies all sidelined, Destiny Udogie forced off against Southampton, and Djed Spence seen limping after the same match, Spurs are in desperate need of reinforcements. De Cuyper’s signing would add much-needed depth and versatility to the squad. However, Tottenham must move quickly to secure the talented full-back, as rivals Arsenal are also in the hunt for his signature.
