Tottenham have been linked with a move for highly sought-after attacker Viktor Gyokeres.

The Sporting Lisbon star has been on sensational form this season, having scored 40 goals and assisting another 10 in 41 games.

His unbelievable numbers this season has taken his overall record for the club to 83 goals and 25 assists in 91 games.

These are the numbers of a striker who can fill in the void left by Harry Kane, who left Spurs to join Bayern Munich in 2023.

Tottenham eyeing move for Viktor Gyokeres

As per Spanish outlet Fichajes, the Gyokeres is on Tottenham’s radar, who see him as an attractive option to bolster their attack for next season.

The report claims that the Portuguese club are aware of the interest in their player and will only consider selling him if a club meets their valuation of the player.

The report adds that an offer from Spurs could be luring, especially if the player ‘pushes for a move’.

It’s said that the ‘coming weeks will be crucial’ in determining the future of the player and if negotiations are to progress, Tottenham could land the Swede striker.

Spurs to face competition for Gyokeres

This is not the first time Spurs have shown interest in the player. They were initially linked with him last January but the club ended up signing Werner on loan.

They were again linked with the goalscoring machine last summer but ended up signing Dominic Solanke.

With the likes of Werner and Richarlison expected to be leaving at the end of the season, a move for the Sporting star could be likely.

However, Tottenham will face competition from other Premier League clubs including Manchester United who have been strongly linked with a move for Gyokeres.

Ruben Amorim is said to be a big fan of the player having managed him at Sporting and wants to reunite with him at United.

Amorim’s presence will no doubt put United in a good spot if they pursue the player, however, the likes of Dejan Kulusevski and Lucas Bergvall could play a role in convincing the player to join them at the North London club.
