Tottenham Hotspur are apparently keen on signing the French international defender Axel Disasi.
A report from Daily Mail claims that the defender has been linked with clubs like Manchester United and West Ham as well. The defender is valued at £44 million and he has been a key player from Monaco this season.
Tottenham have been linked with a number of defenders in recent months and they are looking to bring in a quality partner for Argentine international Cristian Romero. The 25-year-old Frenchman could prove to be an impressive acquisition for the London club.
Disasi can operate as a right-back as well as a centre back and his versatility will be an added bonus for Tottenham.
It will be interesting to see if the Londoners can agree on a few with Monaco in the coming months. Clubs like Manchester United certainly have more resources compared to them and it remains to be seen whether Spurs can convince the player to snub other offers and move to London.
The 25-year-old has publicly admitted his desire to play in England at some point. The player revealed last year that the Premier League is very exciting and it is his favourite league in the world. He also added that a move to England could help him progress the most.
He said: “I like England, it is a very exciting league. We can say that it is my favourite league. Between Paris and the Premier League? The place where I can progress the most.”
