Tottenham keen on 21-year-old Man Utd target, money ‘won’t be an issue’

By Saikat -

Tottenham Hotspur are keen on signing the Everton defender Jarrad Branthwaite at the end of the season.

The 21-year-old has established himself as one of the most promising young defenders in European football and a report from Football Insider claims that Manchester United are keen on him as well. The Red Devils have been keeping tabs on him for a while and he is a long-term target for them.

The report further states that there “won’t be an issue” when it comes to funds for Tottenham and they are hoping to get a deal done.

It remains to be seen whether they can beat Manchester United to his signature. Branthwaite has the tools to develop into a top-class Premier League defender and he could be an asset for Tottenham in the long run.

They have already signed Micky van de Ven and Radu Dragusin this season. Another central defender could complete their defensive unit for the foreseeable future.

Branthwaite has already established himself as a key player in the Premier League and he could make an immediate impact at Tottenham if he joins the club.

Meanwhile, Everton are having a disappointing season so far and they are involved in the relegation battle. If they go down at the end of the season, the 21-year-old defender will want to move on and join a club in the top flight. He is too good for the Championship.

Both Manchester United and Tottenham will be exciting destinations for the player and it remains to be seen where he ends up. The Red Devils need to replace players like Harry Maguire and Jonny Evans in the summer and the Everton defender certainly fits the profile.
