Tottenham join Chelsea in the race to sign attacker with 17 goal contributions

Tottenham have entered the race for the signature of Crystal Palace star Eberechi Eze.

The North London club managed to secure Europa League football in their very first season under the leadership of Ange Postecoglou. Having done a decent job in his debut season, the Australian now wants more firepower in his ranks to compete with the best teams in the country.

Postecoglou seeks a major overhaul at the club in the summer and according to a report from GiveMeSport, Tottenham are keen on having Eberechi Eze in their squad starting next season. The English international has been a standout performer for Crystal Palace in the 2023/24 season and Spurs are pushing for his signature

Eze has gone from strength to strength since joining the Eagles back in 2020. In the recently concluded season, the 25-year-old featured in 31 matches across competitions and contributed towards 17 goals (11 goals, 6 assists). While the majority of those appearances have come as an attacking midfielder, he has also showcased his abilities out wide on the flanks.

Chelsea are one of the clubs interested in the English international as they look to reinforce their squad after a poor season last time out. The Crystal Palace versatile attacker could be a great addition to the Blues’ first-team squad but they will face tough competition from Spurs in the race to his signature.

His arrival will add depth to Tottenham’s attack and James Maddison will have stiff competition for a place in the starting XI which could help raise the overall standards.

Negotiations with the Eagles will not be easy for the North London Club as they will only sell the 25-year-old for more than £60 million. Their manager Oliver Glasner is desperate to have Eze at his disposal and with his contract running until 2027, Crystal Palace are in control of the situation.
