Tottenham Hotspur are keen on signing the Eintracht Frankfurt midfielder Hugo Larsson.

According to Sky Germany, they will compete with the likes of Arsenal and Liverpool for the 20-year-old midfielder. They have scouted him multiple times in recent months.

Larsson can operate as a central midfielder as well as a defensive midfielder. He could prove to be a quality acquisition for Spurs if they can get the deal done. However, he is unlikely to be a cheap acquisition. He has a contract with the German club until the summer of 2029, and they could demand a premium for him.

The German outfit are under no pressure to send him, and Tottenham will have to come forward with a lucrative proposal in order to tempt them. The opportunity to play in the Premier League could be quite exciting for the Swedish midfielder, and he will be attracted to the move.

It would be a major step up in his career and he would get to prove himself at the highest level. Regular football in England could accelerate his development as well.

Hugo Larsson would be a future investment

Tottenham need more depth in their side in order to do well across multiple competitions, and the midfield is an area where they need additions. The 20-year-old would be a quality long-term addition and he could develop into a key player for them with the right guidance.

Even if Tottenham have to pay a premium for him now, the player has the attributes to justify the investment in the long term.

The player was previously linked with the move to the Premier League as well. He had a trial with Chelsea back in 2022, but he decided to turn down a move to Stamford Bridge. Larsson felt that the move to the Premier League was happening too soon, and he wanted to focus on his development with Malmo back then.
