Ruben Vargas has been linked with a move away from Sevilla, and Tottenham Hotspur are interested in signing him.

According to a report from Fichajes, Leeds United, Aston Villa and Newcastle are monitoring his situation as well.

The 27-year-old Swiss International has done well for club and country, and he could prove to be a useful acquisition for Tottenham. They need more creativity in the final third, and Vargas will add pace, flair, and unpredictability.

Ruben Vargas could fancy a move

The opportunity to move to the Premier League at this stage of his career could be exciting as well. He could look to take on a new challenge. Spurs will be able to provide him with the platform to compete at a high-level and fight for trophies.

His former manager, Jess Thorup, believes he has an “X-factor”. Tottenham needs players who can change games in their favour, and the 27-year-old could be ideal for them. It will be interesting to see if they can sign him for a reasonable amount of money.

How much could Vargas cost?

Leeds United are reportedly preparing an offer of around €20 million for the player. And have the finances to pay that kind of money as well. It remains to be seen whether Sevilla are prepared to sell him next month.

The player has the right blend of experience and quality, and he could improve all four clubs.

Tottenham need more quality during the second half of the campaign in order to turn things around. They have struggled after an impressive start to the season, and they will look to finish as strongly as possible. They are still pushing for a place in the UEFA Champions League next season. Signing the right players in January could make their job easier.
