Report: Tottenham want 14-G/A playmaker hailed as “fantastic” by Thomas Frank

Tottenham Hotspur are interested in signing the Brentford attacking midfielder Mikkel Damsgaard during the summer transfer window.

According to CaughtOffside, they are keen on the 24-year-old, and it will be interesting to see if they can get the deal done. He will cost around €40-50 million this summer. Tottenham certainly have the finances to get the deal done.

The player was linked with Tottenham a few months ago as well. They have been tracking Damsgaard for years.

Tottenham could use Mikkel Damsgaard

The Danish midfielder has shown his quality with Brentford, and he could be the ideal acquisition for Tottenham. He’s capable of operating as a central midfielder as well as an attacking midfielder. He will help create goal-scoring opportunities for his teammates and add some ingenuity to the Tottenham midfield.

Tottenham need more quality in the middle of the park, and the 24-year-old could be the ideal acquisition. The player scored three goals last season and picked up 11 assists. His numbers are likely to improve when he is playing in a better team alongside quality players.

The move to Tottenham could bring out the best in him. He is entering the peak years of his career, and this could be the right time for him to try out a new challenge. Tottenham have secured Champions League qualification for the next season, and they are likely to be an attractive destination for quality players.

Furthermore, they are expected to appoint Thomas Frank as their manager, and he could play a key role in getting the deal done. Frank did well to get the best out of Damsgaard at Brentford, and the player could look to reunite with his manager at the North London club. Frank has previously labelled the 24-year-old midfielder as “fantastic”.

It will be interesting to see if Tottenham are willing to pay the asking price for him in the coming weeks.
